Gigi Hadid

Gigi kept things simple with her hair this year and we loved it! She rocked a simply voluminous waved look with cute gold hair pins and was definitely sporting one of the best Met Gala hairstyles of the night. To achieve this look, follow the steps below:

  1. Using your straightener on a low heat mode, apply very loose waves to your hair extensions as well as your own hair, focusing on the ends. Once curled, allow to cool and brush out the curls to create a softer look. For a look just like Gigi’s try our 16 inch – Honey Blonde #18 – 9 piece clip ins.
  2. Apply your extensions, ensuring you keep a straight middle part.
  3. Brush through your hair and the extensions to ensure seamless blending.
  4. Take two gold bobby pins and pin either side of your hair down about one inch above your ears.

Taylor Hill

best met gala hairstyles

Model Taylor Hill was rocking a slick ponytail and fierce smokey eye for this year’s gala. To achieve this look, a ZALA 22inch human hair ponytail is absolute must!

  1. To start, sleek your hair back into a high ponytail making sure to remove any lumps or loose hairs. Optional: Use hairspray and a small amount of gel to keep this look in place and your hair looking sleek.
  2. Straighten your 22 inch – ZALA human hair ponytail ensuring there are no kinks or waves. Brush through this once done to ensure it is sleek and shiny.
  3. Apply your 22 inch – ZALA human hair ponytail. Taylor has naturally brunette hair and we would recommend our Chestnut Brown #6 shade for a look just like hers.
  4. And voila! You have Met Gala worthy hair.

SZA

best met gala hairstyles

Sza looked angelic at this year’s Met Gala with gorgeous curls and an amazing halo like headpiece. There is no doubt, this was one of the best Met Gala hairstyles of the year. Follow the steps below to get Sza’s amazing look:

  1. Curl your own hair and your hair extensions using the ZALA Cosmo Curling Wand. We would recommend using a smaller barrel to achieve slightly smaller, tighter curls. If your hair is very curled once done, don’t worry to much as these curls will drop with time! For this look, we would recommend using our 20inch – Quad Wefted clip in set. For a look just like Sza’s try our Jet Black #1 colour.
  2. Once curled, run your fingers through your hair as well as the extensions very gently to break up some of the curls.
  3. Apply your hair extensions ensuring they are completely blended.
  4. Once your hair extensions are applied, you can take a section of your hair from just above your ears and pull it back, securing it with a hair tie or pins for a gorgeous half up, half down look.
  5. Then take a small section of hair from just behind your ear and plait it to create a small tight braid. Repeat this on the other side of your head as well.
  6. While you may not have the wild head piece Sza was sporting, try a cute gold head band to complete this angelic look.

5 Tips & Tricks to Break Bad Hair Habits

Bad habits, we all have them! Everyone is guilty of forming them. We know bad hair habits can be easy to make. But don’t stress, you can break bad hair habits by following our 5 easy tips and tricks for healthier, shinier and stronger hair!

break bad hair habits

1. Don’t wash your hair every day

Washing your hair daily can dry your hair out. This is because it will not give your hair the opportunity to produce its own natural oils your hair needs to stay healthy. Try washing it two-three times a week, this can improve your hair’s overall health within days.

2. Don’t wash your hair with hot water

Hot water can be harsh on your hair instead, wash your hair with lukewarm or cold water. Washing your hair with lukewarm or cold water creates flat hair shafts. This causes a shiny and glossy appearance throughout your hair.

3. Treat your hair before using heat styling products

Learn to start treating your hair with a heat protectant before using hair straighteners/flatirons, curling wands, and blow dryers. Those products cause excessive and unwanted dryness – stopping your hair from looking its healthiest. With a good heat protectant, you can save your hair from any unnecessary heat damage.

4. Get a regular trim or haircut

We know it’s not what you want to hear! Getting a trim regularly on your damaged split ends will help your hair achieve greater results over time. Cutting off your split ends ensures the hair will always look healthy and replenished.

5. Use the right hairbrush

Nothing will make your hair or scalp happier than a good hairbrush! Natural-bristle brushes can create too much tension on fine or damaged hair. A brush with individual teeth glides through the hair without pulling and tugging. The Tangle Teaser can be used on both wet and dry hair with fewer breakages and damage

We hope this post has helped you to break bad hair habits. For more info on hair care products that will help you, please visit our hair care page here.

Sleeping with Tape Hair Extensions

You’ve had your tape hair extensions put in, you look great but now it’s time for bed. Uh, oh! Find out our best tips for sleeping with tape hair extensions!

Sleeping with tape hair extensions

We all know it too well, the long morning routine to get our hair ready for the day. Depending on how long your hair extensions are, waking up in the morning to do your hair can take hours! That’s not even taking into consideration washing and drying time! Not to fret! There is a way to avoid having to get up early to avoid doing your hair. That’s by doing your hair the night before!

BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP:

Dry your hair as much as possible

Prepare your hair using your regular routine, but try to air-dry your hair as much as possible before going to bed. As long as your tape in hair extensions are dry on the surface, it will be safe to sleep on comfortably.

Secure your hair as much as possible

If you’re going to bed with damp hair, be sure to braid your hair before you sleep. This will keep your hair secure with much less movement and allow your tape hair extensions to dry properly and undisturbed while you sleep.

WHILST YOU ARE  ASLEEP:

Protect your hair as much as possible

We know that as little movement as possible to your hair while it is drying results in less frizz and more control. Sleeping without moving is not a reality, but switching from a cotton pillowcase to a silk pillowcase can lessen that.

Silk pillowcases are much softer and easier on your hair. This is because silk is great for preventing frizz. As the fabric is smoother than most common fabrics used for pillowcases, less friction is caused throughout your sleep meaning that your hair will be smoother in the morning. This means they are the perfect to maintain the condition of your ZALA tape hair extensions as well as your natural tresses.

WAKING UP:

Comb and detangle your hair as much as possible

If your hair has got a little frizz first thing in the morning, not to worry! Spray a little of the Revive Me Hair Treatment, and comb through with the ZALA Tangle Tamer, voila!

Bonus styling to blend the hair extensions as much as possible

To blend your tape hair extensions the best style tip is to curl them! Using the ZALA COSMO Curling Wand to blend your hair with the tape in hair extensions.

Sleeping with tape hair extensions doesn’t have to be scary! Tag us in your photos of your tape in hair extensions on instagram!
