I absolutely love scary movies. Theres something so thrilling about being scared and feeling the adrenaline rush through your veins.

Did The Purge Movie freak you out or leave you wanting more? I wonder what I’d do if the Purge really happened. Would I secure my house and hide inside all day or would I run around killing people?

We put together this super simple yet creepy look inspired by the purge. All we needed was our ZALA ponytails, a white shirt and a mask!

You will need:

2 x ZALA 16 inch Ponytails
Bobbypins (included)

Starting with a neat centre parting, tie your hair up into 2 sleep pig tails.
Apply 2 x 16 inch ponytails extensions to either side, securing with bobby pins.

Fortune Teller

If you could look into a crystal ball and see the future, what would you want to see?

There is something so magical and mystical about this fortune teller look. I don’t know whether I would like to be able to tell the future or not!

We paired big voluptuous messy curls with a jingly head piece, some sparkles and some dark and mysterious makeup. This look has everything.

You will need:

Section off your hair and apply 20 inch hair extensions for length and volume.
Working in sections, curl your hair with the extensions using a medium sized barrel.
Brush out the curls and use a volumizing powder for extra volume and texture.

Ever since watching the Little Mermaid at 4 years of age, I still sit by the water and pretend i have a tail instead of legs… no, really. Imagine spending your days swimming around with your mermaid friends! I’m definitely not the only girl who has had a fantasy about living under the sea with my best friend who’s a lobster.

Unfortunately, not all of the creatures below sea level are as friendly as Sebastian. Meet the Evil Mermaid…

This Evil Mermaid look was put together by curling some insanely long hair extensions. We added some colourful fishy makeup and threw on a long, flowy, colourful dress to mimic a tail.

You will need:

Section off your hair and apply 26 inch hair extensions for dramatic length.
Twist and curl your hair and the extensions around the wand to create beachy waves
Apply a generous amount of ZALA Revive Me throughout to achieve wet looking hair.

Sleek Half-up-half-down Look

This Ariana Grande inspired look is perfect for Splendour in the Grass this year! It is super practical but still adds drama and life to any outfit. To achieve it, follow the steps below:

Create two small Dutch braids on either side of your head
Apply hair extensions for added length and volume
Using a straightener, add some loose waves
Finish the look by applying hair rings to each braid

Double Dutch Braids

This classic look is a festival essential, especially on those last few days when your hair may be feeling a little lacklustre. This style allows for serious dancing on the DF and will stay place all day and all night. To achieve the look, follow these steps:

Start by creating a clean middle part all the way to the nape of the neck. Section off one side to prepare for your hair extensions.
The most important step when using hair extensions for double dutch braids is where you clip them in! And it’s super simple! Just turn them around and clip them in vertically ? This works best with using your 2 & 3 clip pieces. To ensure the pieces are undetectable once applied, section off the hair diagonally in line with where your braid will be and repeat on the other side. We recommend using at least 2 pieces per side for the best results!

Side Swept Braid

We love this easy to achieve and gorgeous, side swept braid that is perfect for any festival. It is perfect for dancing and will keep you cool on those warmer days. Follow the steps bellow to achieve this look:

For a longer, thicker braid, apply a few wefts on the side you want your braid
Flip your hair to once side, take a small section from the front and split into three
Create a Dutch braid by adding in more hair from either side as you go, crossing each part under and over into the middle
Once you get to the nape area, secure your hair into a low side ponytail (TIP: use a 1 clip piece hair extension to disguise your hair elastic)
Continue with a regular braid and secure with a hair elastic then use you fingers to gently loosen the braid

Drinks with Friends

So you’re a little tired after a big week of work or study but still ready to share a couple of cocktails and laughs with the girls. It will probably be an early night so you want to get your hair done quick so you can spend more time enjoying yourself with your favourite friends. For nights like these, we love this half up fishtail braid!

To achieve this look follow the steps below:

Take two even sections from the front of your hair to twist back and tie together.
Thread this section over and through to create a twisted effect. Add hair from underneath and split into two sections to start your fishtail braid.
Take small pieces from either side and wrap over to the middle.
Repeat this process a third of the way down the hair and secure with an elastic.
Gently pull sections of the braid to loosen and add volume.
Repeat this process another third of the way down the hair.
Optional: Finish the look by adding metal hair rings to conceal the elastics.

Hitting the Club

If you have a dance fueled Saturday night planned, you need a fun hairstyle to match! We love this braided ponytail look for nights out dancing as it is super cute and will stay in place all night. This is definitely one of our favourite Saturday night hairstyles.

To achieve this look follow the steps below:

Brush through your hair to ensure it’s tangle free and then create a clean centre parting.
Section 2 inches on one side of your part and then take another small section from the front. Split this into three parts.
Next, it’s time to start braiding. For this look, you’re going to want to do a french braid. The key to this technique is to pick up more hair from each side as you cross the outer sections over and into the middle.
Repeat this all the way back until you reach the crown of your head, then continue on with a regular braid and secure in place with an elastic.
Then, repeat steps 3 and 4, three more times, until you have 2 braids either side of your part.
Gather all your hair into a ponytail and secure in place with an elastic (this can be a low, high or medium ponytail).
Now for our favourite part – applying your ponytail extensions! This completely transforms your hair and brings the whole look together. Simply slide the clip into the base of your ponytail, wrap the small section around and pin in place.
Finish the look with some boho curls and your hair is complete for a night on the town!

Relaxing Dinner

Maybe you’re ready to relax this weekend and would rather keep in simple with a nice Saturday night dinner. For nights like these, we love this romantic half up twist look that is simple and easy to achieve.

Apply your ZALA hair extensions for instant length, volume and thickness.
Once the extensions have been applied use a medium sized curling want to add loose curls.
At the crown area, take a medium sized section of hair from one side, twist back and pin into place. Repeat this on the other side, twisting back and pinning into place over the first piece.
Repeat this process by taking more pieces from either side, twisting and altering on top. Continue until you’re happy with the results.
