BEFORE YOU GO: HOW TO PACK YOUR EXTENSIONS

If you’re planning on taking your ZALA clip in extensions to your destination of choice, always make sure you pack them right! Follow our instructions for safe packing below:

  1. Brush out your extensions with a travel sized brush, such as our Tangle Tamer, to remove any tangles or knots before packing them.
  2. Clip your extensions into their hanger and place them inside the protective bag – we would recommend our Protect Me Bag to keep your locks safe and frizz free.
  3. Once your suit case is about half full, lay the Protect Me Bag flat on top and pack your remaining clothes and items over the top. This will keep them kink free and avoid any tangling during transit.

GETTING THERE: IN FLIGHT HAIR CARE FOR YOUR EXTENSIONS

Planes can really dry out your skin and your hair, so it is important you treat your extensions right when travelling via plane. These are out top tips on caring for your tapes or clip ins during your flight:

  1. To avoid any tangling when sleeping or sitting for long periods, we would recommend braiding your hair. This will keep your extensions tangle free and in great shape once you have arrived at your destination.
  2. Leave in conditioning treatments are easy to use and a great way to add moisture back into your hair after a long flight! You can even do them before boarding your flight to keep your hair feeling soft and smooth all the way there.
  3. Silk pillow cases are the best option for any extension lover! That’s why we always make sure to bring one on the plane. You can simply pop it over the pillow provided on the plane (or even your own) to keep your hair silky smooth.

YOU’VE ARRIVED: HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR EXTENSIONS ON HOLIDAYS

If you’re planning on swimming on your holiday, it is important to take care of your extensions accordingly. Salt and chlorinated water can cause damage to extensions without proper use. Follow these tips to keep them soft and healthy:

  1. After swimming in salt or chlorinated water, always be sure to rinse your hair with fresh water to remove any residual salt/chlorine that could dry out and damage your extensions.
  2. Using an extension safe brush (like our Tangle Tamer) brush through your hair before it dries. This will allow your hair to dry without any knots and helps avoid snagging.
  3. It is super important to incorporate deep conditioning treatments when swimming regularly. As your extensions cannot generate their own oils, deep conditioners are the perfect way to add back some moisture to your hair after swimming.
  4. Most importantly, don’t forget to enjoy your time on your holiday with your long and beautiful hair!Follow us on Instagram to keep up with our favourite holiday looks!

For dramatic black hair, you need eyes to match! A dark smokey eye goes perfectly with dark hair to create a gorgeous and sultry look.

This look is perfect for these shades: Jet Black #1, Natural Black #1B & Dark Chocolate Brown #2

Top tips:

  1. To create depth in your eye, add warmer brown and orange shades under the darker eyeshadow.
  2. It’s all about blending! Remember, the key to the perfect smokey eye is blending. When in doubt, keep smoking out the colour until it is perfectly blended.
  3. If you’re after a more subtle smokey eye, try using a black pencil liner. This is an easy way for smokey eye beginners to create achieve a smoked out look. Simply apply the liner to your upper lash line (you can be as messy as you want) and blend, blend, blend!
  4. Try double coating your mascara for dark and dramatic lashes to match the smokey look or try ZALA Lash Romance false lashes for ultimate flare.

Seamless Hair Extensions Explained

Seamless Hair Extensions are gaining popularity in the Hair Extension community! We explore the common questions asked about Seamless Hair Extensions.

Seamless Hair Extensions

Seamless Hair Extensions, also known as ‘Skin Weft Extensions’ are made using a silicone backing at the top of the piece rather than wefts sewn to a piece of lace or fabric. Clips are then hand sewn to the silicone backing. They are designed for people who want to a lighter and thinner clip in extension method.

Many questions are asked about this new product, so we answer the following:

Seamless Hair Extensions

Can I wash Seamless Hair Extensions?

To put it simply, yes. You can wash Seamless Hair Extensions like any other clip in extension, however it is advised to avoid letting the silicone weft be submerged in water for no longer than 20 minutes. Water may seep into the cavity and not dry as well as fabric clip in hair extensions. Like any other Hair Extension, it is always recommended to use a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner to ensure the hair does not dry out.

Seamless Hair Extensions

Is there less hair per piece of Seamless Hair Extension?

Seamless hair extensions are designed to look thick and undetectable. Similar to Tape In Extensions, there are no rows of wefts sewn to a piece of lace like conventional Wefted Clip In Hair Extensions. Due to the nature of the silicone backing, you may require more pieces to achieve your desired thickness and length.

SEAMLESS HAIR EXTENSIONS

Can I dye my Seamless Hair Extensions?

If your seamless hair extensions are made from 100% Human Remy Hair, then yes you can! However it is advised to avoid putting any product where the silicone backing is, as this may damage the extension.

Like most human hair extensions, Seamless Hair Extensions can not be bleached or lightened. Many hair extensions tend to go through a long dying process, therefore we do not recommend bleaching or lifting your extensions as this may cause damage to the hair.

When toning or dying your set, always make sure you test your product on one single piece to ensure it gives the results you want!

Seamless Hair Extensions

Like any 100% Human Hair Extension, you can safely style your Seamless Hair Extensions on a lower heat setting. We would suggest styling your hair with a ceramic heating tool which does not exceed 130 Degrees Celsius. Always remember to use a quality heat protecting spray before styling!

We hope this guide helps you decide which type of hair extension is best for your hair! After a colour match to one of our gorgeous ZALA shades? Fill out our quick and easy colour match form here:
