How To Never Get Dry Hair Again

Dry hair can be such a bother to deal with! This is one of the main reasons why a lot of girls prefer hair extensions, which are hassle-free and always ready to wear. Regardless, it’s still important to keep your natural hair healthy and well-nourished for best results. That means doing things to combat frizz and dryness, of all things.

zala how to never get dry hair again

Here are some dos and don’ts on how to never get dry hair again!

Do shampoo your hair a few times a week

Shampooing is a must to keep your hair clean of course, but you shouldn’t overdo it! Shampoo can strip away your hair’s much-needed moisture, leaving you with dry and limp hair. How many times you should shampoo depends on your hair type; for example, if you have curly hair, you can get away with just shampooing once a week.

Don’t use heat on your hair

Heat is your hair’s biggest enemy. Too much heat can damage your hair, turning it dull and lifeless in no time at all. Even though sometimes using heat is inevitable, you should still try to avoid using heat as much as you can.

Do use conditioner whenever you can

A conditioner is your best bet to getting soft, manageable hair, so this is a must when it comes to your healthy hair regimen! Think of it like a soothing lotion that makes your skin softer and smoother after your bath. For best results, you can even use deep-conditioner once a week.

Don’t go overboard with your conditioner

Even though conditioner is generally good, there is such a thing as too much conditioner. I’ve experienced that myself when I got too addicted to using a conditioner without using a shampoo. Hair that gets too much conditioner feels greasy and not at all good! You know what they say, too much is never a good thing.

Do eat healthy food

You can’t rely on just outside nourishment for your hair if you want to avoid getting dry hair. You also have to include healthy food in your diet, such as food rich in Omega-3, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C. True beauty comes from within, so eat healthy and you’ll get healthy hair in no time at all!

Don’t forget your daily hair care regimen

Maintaining some form of daily hair care regimen is extremely important for healthy, well-nourished hair. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but make sure you can stick to it on a regular basis. Just like your skin, your hair needs to be cared for daily in order for you to see optimum results.

Daily Hair Care Routine: Curly Hair

Nobody likes unhealthy hair.

On the flipside though, who doesn’t love natural curls? It’s fun, it’s wild, it’s powerful. It makes one heck of a statement all by itself. What’s not to love?

However, we can’t deny that it can be really taxing to deal with dry, frizzy, and tangled knots that come with having a head full of playful curls. Even if you love using hair extensions, it’s always good to keep your real, natural hair healthy and beautiful. That’s why it’s important to know the right type of daily hair care routine that will nourish and protect your mighty curls.

This guide is suitable for curly-haired people. If you have straight hair, go here, and if you have wavy hair, go here.

Cleanse

There’s a reason why it’s so hard to tame curly hair. Did you know that curly hair is extremely prone to dryness? The natural oils from your scalp always have a hard time reaching your entire hair shaft, thanks to the obstruction caused by the curls themselves.

To combat this problem, make sure to keep your hair washing to a minimum. Shampooing causes the oils to be stripped away, which can dry out your hair even more. Two times a week is good, three times should be the maximum. Make sure you’re using sulphate-free shampoo for best results!

Oh, and when you’re washing, make sure to focus more on the scalp, not the hair itself. Your hair strands already don’t get enough oil, so do the poor babies a favor and leave them alone, most of the time.

Helpful tip: section your hair when you’re washing and don’t forget the deep conditioner!

Style

Heat is an absolute no-no when it comes to styling your curly hair. Like I already said above, dry hair is usually under-moisturized and heat, like shampoo, can make your hair frizzy and lifeless.

Air drying is always preferable over heat drying. But if you really need to dry your hair quickly after bathing, for example, try to use a dryer with a cold air option rather than hot air. Or use a diffuser! A diffuser is more gentle than a traditional blow dryer, since it distributes the heat on your strands. See, there are a lot of options out there that’s perfect for curly hair!

Last but not the least, don’t even attempt to brush your curly hair! You can use wide-teethed combs if you want, but feel free to say bye-bye to your brushes for good. They can wreak your natural curls and just create chaos. Just… don’t.

Protect

Prevention is always better than cure, so prevent hair tangles and frizzes by taking care of your hair properly. Make sure to use products that are specific for curly hair. Use a conditioner every single time you wash your hair and use a serum to lock in the moisture afterwards.

And don’t ever, ever forget that deep conditioning mask! Use it regularly or as frequently as you can. A deep conditioning mask is good for pretty much all hair types, but for curly hair, it’s absolutely essential. After all, it’s practically your curly hair’s best lifesaver.

Daily Hair Care Routine: Wavy Hair

Like all hair types, you’ll need a good daily hair care routine to ensure that your wavy hair is kept voluminous, shiny, and bouncy at all times. While most people may think that wavy-haired people can get the best of both worlds, the truth is, wavy hair can be pretty hard to take care of.

Wavy hair is a unique case since it’s not as prone to dryness as curly hair nor is it as prone to oil as straight hair, so it requires a special kind of care.

This guide is suitable for wavy-haired people. If you have straight hair, go here, and if you have curly hair, go here.

Cleanse

The way to clean your wavy hair is almost the same as cleaning straight hair. Same as with other hair types, daily washing isn’t needed when you’ve got wavy hair. 3-4 times a week is already enough, actually.

However, wavy hair requires special care that you won’t see in other hair types. When washing your wavy hair, you have to make sure to shampoo only upper parts and avoid the lower parts, as opposed to dry hair that only needs to be cleaned at the scalp and straight hair that should be cleaned all throughout the strands. Why? Wavy hair is oily at the roots and dry at the ends.

Make sure to always condition the ends to reduce the dryness and keep the volume of your waves!

Style

Wavy hair looks effortlessly amazing when styled well… which is why it’s absolutely important to make sure that you always style it correctly.

Wanna know a simple yet great tip for keeping your wavy locks voluminous and well-defined? After washing your hair and putting on a small dollop of leave-in conditioner, use a towel to just dry it slightly before scrunching your waves towards your scalp a couple of times. Scrunching helps your waves keep their shape once your hair has dried. Remember not to brush it anymore after this or you’ll lose that gorgeous volume!

And speaking of brushing, it’s time to say goodbye to those hairbrushes! Finger combing should do the trick just fine. You can also try twisting your hair by sections to keep those waves looking bouncy.

Protect

One of the major problems that many wavy-haired individuals experience is lack of hair volume. Wavy hair has flat roots, which means that it’s more prone to oil and grease. This can make your hair stick to your scalp, giving you that flat and dull look.

The best way to tackle this problem would be to stay vigilant when it comes to hair care. Shampoo the scalp and roots properly when you’re cleansing and don’t forget to use a hair serum or leave-in conditioner once you’re done.

The best protection? Leave your hair alone! Don’t touch it other than the occasional twist. Trust me, it’ll be fine even without your tender loving touch.

The Benefits of Coconut Oil for Hair

Hair treatments are a dime a dozen nowadays, but the real challenge is finding one that shows amazing results and won’t have any adverse effects on your hair– or hair extensions.

zala blog benefits coconut oil for hair

Here at ZALA, we only recommend the best of the best products for dull and lifeless hair. Still, we understand the importance of sticking to a healthy diet and using natural products. After all, real beauty comes from within, right?

Today, we’ll discuss the benefits of coconut oil for hair and all the reasons why you should try it at least once!

The Benefits of Coconut Oil for Hair

1. Helps protect hair from dryness

You can use coconut oil for hair before washing, in order to protect it from dryness caused by your shampoo. Of course, using sulphate-free shampoo is ideal, but try thinly coating your hair with coconut hair first for best results.

2. Detangles hair without breaking

We’ve all experienced getting nasty tangles that simply won’t go away. No matter how hard your brush and brush and brush, the tangles are still there, hanging on for dear life. Say bye bye to them easily by applying a small dollop of coconut oil to your hair before combing. 100% guaranteed to remove tangles immediately.

3. Lessens risk of dandruff and lice

Lice are pesky little parasites that make your hair smelly and simply ew. Dandruff plain looks bad and white flakes on shoulders are simply not a beauty trait! And of course, both of these are itchy as heck. Combat these problems by putting a small amount of coconut oil on your scalp.

4. Encourages hair growth

Coconut oil is amazing for hair growth! Not only can you use it to make your hair longer, it can also be used to get thicker, fuller hair. By using coconut oil for hair, you’re reducing hair damage that can cause breakage, which means it’ll be much easier for you to grow your hair out.

5. Prevents sun damage

Sun (as well as heat) is such a huge enemy to your skin and hair. But while it’s obvious how the sun can be so damaging to your skin, it may not be as obvious for your hair. Sun-damaged hair is dry and limp and straw-like — basically no-good. Prevent this by using coconut oil for protection!

Coconut oil is such an amazing product that you can use to get a beautiful head of hair. Add this natural wonder to your daily regimen now!

Daily Hair Care Routine: Straight Hair

It’s important to establish a daily hair care routine, regardless of what type of hair you have. And not just any hair care routine, but the right way to do a hair care routine.

For people who have straight hair, unhealthy hair looks dry, frizzy, and rough. If your hair is well-nourished and well cared for, it’s evident in your scalp, your roots, your shafts. Healthy hair is bouncy, lively, and shiny. It feels silky and smooth to the touch. Totally the opposite of unhealthy hair!

Again, emphasis on the right way. After all, you can do anything daily but if you’re doing the wrong things over and over, you’re bound to do more damage than good.

zala blog daily hair care straight hair

This guide is suitable for straight-haired people. If you have curly hair, go here, and if you have wavy hair, go here.

Cleanse

Straight hair is the most manageable out of all the hair types, but it doesn’t mean that it needs less care and maintenance than the others! Even straight hair can grow limp and dry if kept dirty for long periods of time.

When it comes to cleaning, there’s normally no need to shampoo every day… except if you’ve got straight hair. Straight hair is most prone to oiliness and greasiness from your scalp–too much can actually weigh your hair down. On top of that, the finer your hair is, the worse it is when it gets dirty.

Try to establish a regular shampoo schedule for your straight hair. It doesn’t have to be every day if you’re too busy, but that should be the first option.

Brush

Brushing your hair on a daily basis is extremely important if you’ve got straight hair. Not only does it remove tangles, but it also keeps your hair healthy! Did you know that brushing your hair actually has a myriad of health benefits? This includes increasing blood circulation in your scalp, stimulating and balancing the sebaceous glands, and transporting essential nutrients to your hair stem and roots.

Now you know, so from now on, make it a habit to add brushing to your daily hair care routine.

Protect

You can’t just stop at daily cleansing and brushing if you want to keep your straight hair healthy at all times. Protect it from harmful UV rays by using hair serums and oils whenever you go out. And actually, you can use serums even if you’re just planning to stay inside the house.

Straight hair also tends to be thinner and finer than other hair types so when styling your hair using heat, make sure not to use too much heat and try to apply some serum if you can.

Lastly, protect your hair further by using weekly or bi-weekly hair masks that can nourish your hair on a much deeper level. Leave it on for a few minutes before washing off and see your hair instantly transform from limp and lifeless to silky smooth!
