We have all been in that predicament where we sacrifice our looks because we slept in. Personally, Stranger Things 2 is to blame for being so addictive leading to an all night long Netflix binge. These Busy Hair Hacks will guide you to on how you can style your hair into gorgeous looks in no time at all!

Style your extensions the night before!

Just do it. You will thank yourself in the morning when you have more time to sleep in and eat some breakfast. One trick we love doing is curling your extensions earlier and using our Protect Me Hanger to store them throughout the night or journey. Whichever you are preparing for, you can view our curling tutorial here which is perfect for styling curls the night before.

Hotel Hair Guide

We show you how to get the most out of your hair whilst on vacay (or stay-cay) with our Hotel Hair Guide; Style & care tips when you’re away from home.

Hotel Hair Guide

Hotel Hair Guide

Have a hotel room booked and don’t want to pack all of your styling tools? We don’t blame you! Here’s how to get the most out of your hair when on vacay or stay-cay utilising the most out of the amenities provided by your hotel.

Built In Hairdryer

We are all thinking it. The built in hair dryer that is available in most hotel bathrooms may not be something to brag about, however when you want to pack light, this little tool can get the job done! In order for you to get the most out of your hotel hair dryer, we would suggest gently drying your hair thoroughly with a towel after washing.

Tip: To prevent frizz, pat dry your hair in a downwards motion.

Once your hair is slightly damp, section your hair using a hair tie, and blow dry in a downward motion. This should allow for your hair to be relaxed and manageable to wear out or for a voluminous up do.

Amenity Kits

Amenity kits are your perfect solution to not have to worry about packing essential products like Shampoo and Conditioner. Most hotels provide these personal care products for their guests. Depending on the hotel you are staying at, you may also have access to higher end products which may not contain sulphates or parabens which are hair extension safe! If so, wash away!

Wet Style Your Hair

Styling your hair once you are out of the shower will allow you to save time and effort whilst still having a cute hair do. Once you have washed your hair, towel dry it and style in a double dutch braid.

Instant Hair Texture Tricks

Need to give your hair added depth and texture? These instant hair texture tricks will help you transform your hair to give it more character with a beautiful natural wavy texture!

Instant Hair Texture Tricks

Instant Hair Texture Tricks

Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo, i.e. the holy grail of hair extension products is a great way to create texture in your extensions and natural hair! We absolutely love dry shampoo for giving your hair instant volume and beautiful texture. While many use dry shampoo on those busy or lazy days you don’t have time to wash your hair, we also recommend it on clean hair as a great way to create texture, volume and give your hair life on its most uninspiring days!

Hair Chalk

Hair chalk is another great and super fun way to add texture into your hair. Create depth and variety with coloured hair chalk. We love coloured hair chalks that can be added to any hair for instant and temporary colours. Whether you’re getting into character for an amazing costume, adding something crazy to your hair for a festival or trying out a colour for fun, we think hair chalk is the perfect idea! It is important to wash this product out of any extensions after use however as extended presence on the hair cuticle may cause dryness.

Braiding

For gorgeous, natural looking wavy texture, we love how effortless effortless texture can be added just by braiding your hair and extensions! Do this when wet, allowing your braids to dry. Once dry, unravel your braids for body and texture in your hair. This is a totally non damaging way to add texture to your hair and can be done before bed – this is the ultimate no fuss styling tip.

Sea Salt Spray

Seal salt spray is another great way to add in texture to your hair. It gives your hair that beautiful beachy look you long for after summer ends! Sea Salt Spray can easily be sprayed into your hair. We would recommend ‘scrunching’ each section after it is sprayed to create a textured look. It’s important to wash any sea salt spray out after use as it may dry out your hair or extensions. We would recommend using our Revive Me Hair Treatment after adding a sea salt spray to restore moisture and get your locks feeling silky smooth again!

ZALA’s Revive Me Hair Treatment

Air Drying Hair Tips

This is a must have product for any girl. If you are worried about frizz when air drying, we cannot recommend this product more. It has been specially formulated to reduce all frizziness and adds shine to your hair. Simply spray a small amount into the palm of your hands and run though your hair when wet. This will ensure your hair dries smooth, with plenty of added shine. You can find our Revive Me Hair Treatment here.

Towel Time

If you’re used to roughing your hair up with a towel, it’s time to stop! This can create frizziness and make your hair dry and brittle when air drying. Instead, try gently pressing smaller sections of your hair between two sides of the towel. This will remove moisture without adding frizz. We also love microfibre towels! Normal cotton towels can be rough on your hair cuticles and we therefore recommend a microfibre towel to avoid ongoing damage. This will also help with air drying by preventing friction with the hair cuticle.

The Twist Technique

This is the ultimate, no fuss technique for relaxed ‘French girl’ waves. Once your hair has partly dried, take small sections of your hair and twist them into tight curls by twirling the ends with your fingers. This will remove excess water and speed up drying time as well as creating beautiful effortless waves.

Braiding

Braiding is an amazing way to create cool, beach babe waves without damaging heated tools. For looser, more relaxed waves we recommend parting your hair into four larger braids and ensuring they are not braided to tight. For tighter curls, we recommend doing more smaller braids your hair, ensuring they are braided slightly tighter.

Prevention is the first step to success. Using a heat protecting treatment is essential to ensure your hair lasts countless styling sessions with hot styling tools. Using a heat protectant treatment helps acts as a barrier to your hair before styling by protecting against the harsh heat of your styling tools. Heat protectant treatment is also a great aid for the sunnier seasons as some contain UV blocking particles.

Dry Hair HacksStyling your hair using low heat settings on heat styling tools will help prevent any severe damage to your hair. Hair can be styled well with tools that are as little as 90 Degrees Celsius, so try to avoid soaring temperatures of 210 Degrees Celsius.

Have you heard the great news? We have launched our own Hair Extension Treatment! ZALA Revive Me Hair Extension Treatment is the perfect solution to maintaining soft and smooth hair and extensions. After washing your hair, spray and spread throughout your hair and extensions and let air dry. Style as per normal and you will be able to tell a significant difference in feel and look of your hair!

Dry Hair HacksTreating your hair with coconut oil regularly will help add some smoothness and shine to your hair. Coconut oil is rich in Hyaluronic Acid which encourages collagen production and can assist with adding hydration to your hair.
