It is important to start with freshly washed, clean hair. When drying your hair, we recommend blow drying in the same direction as your intended ponytail as this will help keep the style in place. Starting with clean hair will also add shine to the hair, enhancing the sleek look. Clean and smooth hair is also easier to slick back free from any unwanted kinks or bumps.

If you’re rocking a low ponytail, the part is an essential element in creating the sleek look. For a dead straight part like Kimmy K, use a tail comb! This is the easiest way to trace out your straight part and section away any out-of-place strands.

Applying a small amount of gel around your hairline will flatten down any baby hairs and loose strands. This gel can be gently brushed back towards the crown to create a sleek texture. Be careful not to use too much as this will weigh down the hair; instead apply a small amount at the hairline and use the excess to slick back the rest of the head.

  1. Starting with a centre parting, take a small section of hair from one side and backcomb at the roots.

  4. Braid your hair on either side, secure into place with an elastic and tie two bows around each braid with red ribbon.

Dry shampoo, i.e. the holy grail of hair extension products is a great way to create texture in your extensions and natural hair! We absolutely love dry shampoo for giving your hair instant volume and beautiful texture. While many use dry shampoo on those busy or lazy days you don’t have time to wash your hair, we also recommend it on clean hair as a great way to create texture, volume and give your hair life on its most uninspiring days!

Hair Chalk

Hair chalk is another great and super fun way to add texture into your hair. Create depth and variety with coloured hair chalk. We love coloured hair chalks that can be added to any hair for instant and temporary colours. Whether you’re getting into character for an amazing costume, adding something crazy to your hair for a festival or trying out a colour for fun, we think hair chalk is the perfect idea! It is important to wash this product out of any extensions after use however as extended presence on the hair cuticle may cause dryness.

Braiding

For gorgeous, natural looking wavy texture, we love how effortless effortless texture can be added just by braiding your hair and extensions! Do this when wet, allowing your braids to dry.
