Space Buns – Coachella Hairstyle | ZALA Hair Extensions

Coachella – the most anticipated festival of the year is almost here! So, to have your locks sorted, we’ve created this short series of festival hairstyles using ZALA Hair Extensions. Today’s look is these super cute space buns which are sure to get you mistaken for a celeb at any festival. Read on for our full tutorial on the look!

SPACE BUNS – COACHELLA HAIRSTYLE

YOU’LL NEED:

Hair Extensions – we’re using none other than our fave ZALA Quadweft Clip In Hair Extensions. Our babe Madeleine wear’s a 20 inch Ice Queen Platinum Blonde #60 weft for serious platinum hair goals.
Curling Wand – our go to is the ZALA Cosmo Wand 28mm attachment
Hair elastics and bobby pins, of course!

HOW TO GET THE LOOK:

First things first, apply your hair extensions! Hair extensions are our absolute essential festival hair accessory – in particular, ZALA Quadlux Clip In Hair Extensions. Being 100% human hair, quad wefted and extra thick from top to bottom, ZALA hair adds all the volume you need and can be styled just like your natural hair to achieve your perfect festival tresses.
Once your hair extensions have been applied, it’s time to add some boho curls! Our go-to for styling hair extensions is the ZALA Cosmo Wand. For a super textured look, we used the 28mm attachment and finger combed the hair once styled to loosen the curls.
Next up, space buns! Starting with your hair in a centre part, create two small ponytails on either side of the crown of your head.
Once your ponytails are secure, wrap the hair around itself halfway and pin in place, leaving out the ends. Play around with the shape until both sides are even and then is secured with a few extra bobby pins.
Then, take a small piece of hair from one side of your hair and create a fishtail braid. If you’re not familiar with the fishtail technique, split the hair into two sections and take small pieces from either side over and into the middle. Continue all the way down and secure in place with an elastic.

HOW TO WAKE UP WITH PERFECT HAIR

When wanting to wake up with ready to go locks, it all comes down to preparation! Of course, there will be a little touching up here and there, but these tips will be sure to have your locks looking perfect morning.

STYLE YOUR HAIR THE NIGHT BEFORE

First things first: decide on the look you’re going for before you go to bed. This can be anything from old hollywood style waves to the perfectly undone look, and will determine how you’ll need to wear your locks overnight.

For a more polished glam style, apply some heated rollers and finish with some strong hold hairspray the night before. Don’t worry! It’ll look a little crazy at first, but the curls will loosen and soften overnight, allowing you to wake up with that perfect, straight out of the salon look. Just make sure to give your locks a good brush through and a final spritz with hairspray.
For a more undone look, start with freshly washed hair and blow dry until it’s about 90% dry. Then, braid your hair before bed and let your hair dry completely overnight. Once you wake up, unravel the braids and comb through with your fingers, finishing with some texturising spray before you head out.
