Ponytail Clip For Weddings

Taking the less-is-more route, there are a lot of ponytail hairstyles you can use to complete your wedding look. Although ponytails are typically reserved for a slow, “too lazy to dress up” kind of day, they can look amazing when done right, even for something as special as a wedding.

Feel like you don’t have enough length and volume to pull it off? With Zala’s Clip, Wrap & Go Ponytail Hair Extension, you can have a fuller, bouncier, and longer ponytail instantly. It doesn’t matter even if you’ve got short or layered hair – our extensions will make sure that no hair strand will stick out no matter what hairstyle you’ve got.

1. Side-Swept Ponytail

There’s something about a side-swept ponytail that looks naturally romantic, don’t you think? Not to mention, it’s very easy to pull off.

Just pull back all your hair and tie it in a side ponytail. You can then style your hair in soft, large curls or tie them in big, loose braids. This allows you to blend your hair extensions to your own natural hair with curls or braids. This look is really customizable depending on your preference as well as your wedding theme.

2. High Ponytail

Plain high ponytails should not be underestimated, even for weddings. It’s classic for a reason, able to suit a wide variety of bridal styles and looks.

There are a lot of options you can choose from to make this classic pony style impressive not just your future partner, but for your wedding guests as well. A huge ribbon, top pearl pins, or some end curls – there’s just a wide variety of options to make this minimalist look even more chic.

Additionally, the simplicity of this hairstyle will allow you to emphasize the details at the back of your wedding gown and show off that beautiful dress. This sleek updo also exudes modern femininity and elegance if you’re leaning towards a more voguish wedding.

Pro-tip: if you tease the bottom strands for some volume while keeping the crown part aesthetically sleek, you could be in for some stunning wedding profile shots.

3. Voluminous Ponytail

Your slicked-back hair in contrast with the overly teased voluminous ponytail gives your hair a nice texture and vibe that’s very fitting with an event as joyous as a wedding. It’s gracefully feminine and, at the same time, it’s playfully modern. The volume, texture, and dimension make this ideal for either modern-themed or boho-themed weddings – maybe even both.

And since you only need to tie your hair once, you can rest assured even your shorter hairs will not stray in front of your face during your first dance.

4. Low Ponytail

If you’re looking for a more classic look for your wedding, consider a low ponytail. While some may deem this look as ‘boring’, the truth is that low ponytails can give off an ethereal beauty when spruced up with braids, twists, or accessories.

5. Braided Ponytail

With braids, your ponytail can go a lot of ways: sophisticated and sleek, charming and fun, or even cool and free.

For a charming and fun braided ponytail, you can try out a laced braid. Instead of one section of hair, substitute it with lace or a long strip of cloth and braid your hair. This is a nice substitute for your braids if you can’t find small flowers to insert in your hair so that your braids can achieve that more romantic boho look and match your garden or beach wedding.

An example of a cool and free braided ponytail is the fishtail ponytail. It’s a perfect look for more carefree wedding vibes like outdoor weddings or wedding parties. Get a more celebratory feel and look with a fishtail pony!

If you want a more versatile hairstyle that can suit both the ceremony and reception, you can go for the classic twisted braids. Timeless and ever-so-gorgeous, you can’t go wrong with this one.

DIY Hair Treatments: Natural Scalp Exfoliation

In the previous article, we talked about the many reasons why exfoliating your scalp is important if you want to have gorgeous, healthy hair. But while there are many ways to do it, natural scalp exfoliation, using natural ingredients, is still one of our favorite ways.

In today’s article, we’ll list down some of our favorite DIY hair treatments for natural scalp exfoliation!

Honey sugar scalp scrub

Sugar is a very popular ingredient for scrubs, regardless of which part of the body it’s going to be used for.

It’s a gentle exfoliant and allows you to clean your pores thoroughly without hurting them. Honey is added into the mix as a source of vitamins, nutrients, and enzymes. Plus, due to honey’s natural properties, it makes scrubbing your scalp easier too and leaves it soft and exfoliated.

In order to create this natural scalp scrub, simply mix 2 parts sugar and 1 part honey together in a bowl. Apply to your hair and leave on for a few minutes before rinsing it off. Make sure to rinse thoroughly as you wouldn’t want to leave any sugar residue behind!

Salt is another effective exfoliant for your scalp. Together with coconut oil, it can help remove your dry skin, dandruff, and other excess buildup while stimulating hair growth. Coconut oil is especially good at moisturizing your scalp and providing protection.

For this DIY scalp scrub, mix 2 tablespoons of sea solt and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil together gently massage onto your scalp. Use shampoo and water to rinse afterwards.

Brown sugar and oatmeal scrub

Again, sugar is a great exfoliant, which makes it perfect for DIY treatments for natural scalp exfoliation. Meanwhile, oatmeal is another effective physical exfoliant that surely but gently exfoliates your hair.

To make a brown sugar and oatmeal scrub, combine 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, and 2 tablespoons of your favorite hair conditioner. Wet hair then massage the DIY scalp scrub into your scalp in circular motions.

How To Achieve Your New Year’s Hair Resolutions

So, you already have a good plan in mind for this year. Failed new year’s resolutions are common, but you wouldn’t let that happen to you, would you? Here are our best tips on how to achieve your new year’s hair resolutions, or any other resolutions, really!

zala-achieve-new-year's-hair--resolutions

Think about why you want to achieve it

The first step of setting goals is to figure out first why you want to reach that goal.

Why do you want to get gorgeous hair? Why do you want to get rid of your frizz? Why do you want to grow your hair out? Why do you want to finally get your hair dyed red? What’s your motivation behind your new year’s hair resolutions?

If you don’t know your whys, then it will be very easy for you to get burned out and to stop doing what you’re doing when the going gets tough. It’s the same thing with pretty much everything else. If you don’t know why you’re going to the gym, then once you start failing your workouts, there’s a high chance that you’ll simply stop what you’re doing. After all, you don’t even know why you’re doing it, right? Might as well quit while it’s early. On the other hand, knowing your ‘why’ behind your actions can help you stay motivated no matter how tough the situaton is.

Write down your new year’s hair resolutions

One of the best ways to start is to simply write down your new year’s hair resolutions. You can’t just think of your resolutions and leave them hanging in the air. Writing things down forces you to really think about it, what you want to achieve and what you’re planning to do about it. It works because it helps make your goals more concrete instead of just mere abstract thoughts.

Create a realistic plan of action

By realistic plan of action, we mean something that you can really do, right here, right now.

For example, don’t say that you want to have long, gorgeous hair this year when you currently have a pixie cut. Since our hair only grows about 6 inches per year on average, it simply isn’t naturally possible to go from pixie cut to long hair in a year. Of course, you can always use hair extensions if you just want the long-haired look.

Another example is your regular haircare routine. If you’ve been doing it for a while, then congratulations, keep it up! But if you’re a beginner, then don’t make it a 10-step haircare routine unless you want to fail. Keep it simple for now. Clarifying shampoo, conditioner, and hair sunscreen are the most important steps. Hair masks, hot oils, hair serums, and everything else can wait until you’re more used to having a haircare routine.

Push yourself to be disciplined

Lastly, you need to push yourself to be disciplined if you want to achieve your new year’s hair resolutions. Or any other resolutions, actually.

Can we let you in on a little secret? Discipline is the key component to reaching your dreams and staying in the sidelines. There’s no such thing as an overnight success, well, at least 99.98% of the time. If you want to achieve your goals, discipline is your one-way ticket there. Easier said than done, we know.

Worst Winter Hair Problems

Believe it or not, we’re a big fan of winter. We love the cool breeze, the dainty falling snow, the yummy hot chocolate and warm cookies combo. What we don’t love, though, is all the hair issues that usually arise around this time of the year.

In today’s article, we’ve compiled our list of the worst winter hair problems ever!

zala-winter-hair-problems

Extremely dry hair

Thanks to the dry winter air, your strands tend to become dry as well. When it gets too dry, it starts to take on a straw-like look. Curly-haired individuals are more prone to getting dried hair too, so make sure to protect your hair against the weather.

There are many ways to go about this. One, condition your hair often. Two, avoid heat-styling tools around this time. Three, apply hair mask to your strands at least once a week.

Frizzy hair

Even if you don’t typically get frizzy hair, you might notice it happening around wintertime. Remember, frizzy hair is often caused by dry hair, and dry hair is very common during winter. Although it’s still not as bad as frizzy hair during humid months, it’s still an annoyance to many people.

To avoid this, make sure to keep your hair hydrated at all times. You can also switch out your pillowcases to silk to reduce frizzy hair. Letting your hair go dry is a surefire way to get frizzy hair.

Dandruff

Dry scalp can cause dandruff, and like we’ve already mentioned in this article, this dryness is also caused by the dry weather in winter. In addition to this, it can also cause you to experience itchiness due to dandruff.

You can apply olive oil to your scalp in order to moisturize it and reduce the itchiness. You can also try exfoliating your scalp to reap more benefits.

Static hair

This is one of the worst winter hair problems that you can ever have. It can happen all throughout the year but it usually happens during the winter because dry winter air makes static hair happen more often. Just keep your hair hydrated and try to wear fewer synthetic clothes because those can also exacerbate the issue.
