HOW TO CARE FOR CLIP IN HAIR EXTENSIONS

BRUSHING

When brushing your new set of ZALA’s, it’s super important to ensure you’re using the right tool & technique! As each strand is carefully sewn together into the weft, your regular hair brush may be a little too harsh for clip in hair extensions. So, opt for a hair extension safe brush that has soft and flexible bristles. This will avoid any pulling and snagging AND will help to prevent shedding. We recommend our Tangle Tamer which is perfect for detangling clip in hair extensions! Always brush from bottom to top to safely and gently remove any knots and tangles.

STYLING

Next up, styling! What we love most about ZALA hair extensions is that they’re the softest, silkiest 100% human hair which means they are completely safe to curl, straight & style. However, just like your natural hair, heat styling tools can be damaging on your extensions if used incorrectly! Before picking up your curling wand or straight, always use a good quality heat protectant prior to styling and if you can, always try use tools with temperature settings on a low to medium heat. These two important styling rules will prevent any damage and help keep your clip in’s looking and feeling healthy in the long run.

WASHING

Some of the most common questions we get at ZALA are to do with washing clip in hair extensions. Many people make the easy mistake of washing clip ins just as frequently as their natural hair, which is certainly not the case! We ONLY recommend washing your clip in hair extensions if you noticed a change in the appearance or feel of the hair, or if there is product build up. Remember, these are hair extensions do not receive the same natural oils to keep them healthy & hydrated, so try keep washing to a minimum to keep them soft & silky. And when it is time to wash your set, always make sure you’re using good quality sulphate free products.

STORING

Last, but definitely not least, storing your hair extensions! Although this step is over over-looked, it is SO important to store your clip in’s correctly to prolong their life span. And unfortunately, placed in a shoe box or draw doesn’t cut it! It’s essential to be storing your set in a protective case to guard your extensions from humidity, dust and similar factors. This makes the BIGGEST difference in the overall condition of the hair and really does extend their lifespan. Face of ZALA – Brunette Model Search

After announcing a model call for the new brunette Face of ZALA on Instagram, we received an amazing 950+ applications! We were looking for Sydney brunettes who are confident in the front of the camera, take a killer selfie and love all things hair.

We picked our faves and invited them to the ZALA HQ for a fun day of photos, cupcakes and champagne. Not to mention, plenty of hugs and kisses from Pablo the Frenchie! But most importantly, auditions and headshots for our new brunette ZALA babe!

Ranging from Chestnut Brown #6, all the way to Natural Black #1B, these girls were just SO stunning – we’re going to have such a hard time choosing the winner!
