One of the main questions we get in terms of styling tape hair extensions is how to wear them up! So, first up is this super pretty up-do style. With tape in hair extensions, super high ponytails and buns aren’t ideal, however this doesn’t mean you have to avoid these looks all together!

For this up-do, we’ve kept it low to ensure the tape tabs are completely hidden. Start by sectioning off your hair in line with your ears, and pinning the top section up and out of the way. Then, take a small piece from one side and create a low ponytail to form the base of your up-do. Next, it’s as simple as taking small pieces from the rest of your hair and twisting, wrapping, braiding around the ponytail. Keep going until all hair has been pinned up and you’re done!

PONYTAIL

Next up, serious ponytail goals! For those new to tape in hair extensions, it can be difficult to style your hair up and into a pony without the tapes showing. First thing’s first, what is a lob? It’s simply short for a long bob! Generally 3-4 inches long than your usual bob, the long bob sits anywhere between the collarbones, to above the bust. It’s perfect for those who want the chop, without being too drastic. And, the lob is also known as the hairstyle that suits literally everyone! We can definitely see why the lob hair trend is here to stay.

In terms of the specific cut, a lob is usually a little shorter at the back and cut to achieve plenty of texture. Not only is it super flattering, it looks awesome styled both sleek and straight, or textured and wavy!

First up, this AMAZING french braid! This look is perfect if you want to make a statement with your hair, as it’s a serious head turner. Start with your hair parted to the side and apply hair extensions for added volume and length. Although this step is optional, we think it’s SUCH a game changer when it comes to french braids. Once your hair is prepped, add curls prior to styling. Next, french braid all your hair in a diagonal direction to create a super pretty side braid. Coachella – the most anticipated festival of the year is in full swing! To have your locks sorted for the final weekend, we’ve created this amazing braided ponytail tutorial. This is the last look in our Coachella series using ZALA Hair Extensions which is your one-stop look-book for festival hairstyles!

BRAIDED PONYTAIL TUTORIAL

YOU’LL NEED:

• Hair Extensions – to have your locks on point and get you mistaken for a celeb at Coachella we’re using none other than our fave ZALA ponytail extensions. Our babe Madeleine wear’s a 22 inch 100% human hair pony Ice Queen Platinum Blonde #60 for serious platinum hair goals.
• Curling Wand – our go-to for styling, in particular for hair extensions, is always the ZALA Cosmo Wand using the 28mm attachment
• Hair elastics and bobby pins of course!

HOW TO GET THE LOOK:

1. First things first, brush through your hair to ensure it’s tangle free and then create a clean centre parting.
2. Section off 2 inches on one side of your part and then take another small section from the front. Split this into three parts.
3. Next, it’s time to start braiding! For this look, you’re going to want to do a french braid. The key to this technique is to pick up more hair from each side as you cross the outer sections over and into the middle.
4. Repeat this all the way back until you reach the crown of your head, then continue on with a regular braid and secure in place with an elastic.
5. Then, repeat steps 3 and 4, three more times, until you have 2 braids either side of your part.
6. Gather all your hair into a ponytail and secure in place with an elastic. This can be a low, high or medium ponytail, but we think the higher the better as it adds more stability and hold.
7. Now for our favourite part – applying your ponytail extensions! This completely transforms your hair and brings the whole look together. Simply slide the clip into the base of your ponytail, wrap the small section around and pin in place. It’s that easy! The perfect pony in minutes, with a little help from ZALA!
8. Finish the look with some boho curls and your hair is complete. Ready to take on Coachella weekend #2 with a power ponytail!
