HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR PERFECT HAIR COLOUR

Okay, so the major deciding factor when choosing your perfect hair colour is your skin tone. So, before we get into how to choose your perfect hair colour, let’s take a look at the characteristics of each different skin tone!

SKIN TONE TEST

Much like makeup, we choose shades depending on the undertone of our skin. To determine whether you have cool or warm undertones, do this quick test! Take a look at the insides of your wrists. If your veins appear more blue, you have pink/cooler undertones. Otherwise, if they pull more green, you have warmer/yellow or golden undertones.

The second key factor is the shade of your hair. Whether you are the palest of pale, or the darkest of dark, this plays a big key when wondering how to choose your perfect hair colour.

GENERAL GUIDE

• If you have olive skin, you have a warm/golden undertones. To compliment this, choose rich tones like beigy blonde, caramel or rich browns. Highlights always look beautiful with olive skin!

• If you have pale skin, chances are you have a cooler/pink undertone. If so, stick with cool shades such as cherry red and icy blonde. These ashier shades will suit perfectly with your skin tone.

• If you have medium to light skin with honey undertones, warm shades are your colour of choice. Go for copper, reddish brown or honey blonde shades.

• If your skin is dark, go for auburn, golden brown or rich black hues. These richer shades will compliment your deep skin tone.

SWITCH IT UP

We had recommended basing your hair colour of your skin tone. However, you can choose certain shades to warm up your complexion or create the illusion of more pale skin! If you do have pale skin, why not go for a rich colour to warm up your skin! And if you’re looking for more pale, porcelain-like skin, go with black hair! Contrasting hair colours can make a big difference to your overall appreance!

How to Apply ZALA Quadweft Hair Extensions – 20″ 9 piece Clip In’s

ZALA hair extensions have been designed so they can quickly and easily be applied within a couple of minutes. As a guide, we recommend our 9 piece sets for the best results. This set is designed for those with medium to thick hair. All you’ll need when asking how to apply ZALA Quadweft Hair Extensions is:

• A set of ZALA Clip In Hair Extensions 9 piece Quadweft 265grams
• ZALA Tangle Teaser or Loop Brush, to get rid of any knots and tangles
• Sectioning clips! These are super helpful when applying your set.

Before removing the ZALA Hygiene tag/seal, be sure to hold your set up to ensure they are the perfect match! Now, lets move on to find out how to apply ZALA Quadweft Hair Extensions.

1. Start with freshly washed and blow dried hair. If your hair is curly, you may want to blow dry straight or style in a straight finish for the most seamless application. Otherwise, you can always style your hair with your extensions once applied!
2. Section your hair, starting at the nape/neck area. This section should be taken from roughly the top of the ears.
3. Apply your first 3 clip piece, starting with the middle clip. Hook onto your hair and secure!
4. Take your next section 1 cm above and repeat the same process with a second 3 clip piece. You can always tease the root of your hair for extra grip. However, ZALA clips have a silicon backing for a secure hold, therefore this is not necessary.
5. Repeat this, applying both 5 clip and remaining 3 clip piece, taking your sections 1cm above the last. Always work from the center clip outwards for easiest and even application. Your final 3 clip piece should be applied just below the crown area.
6. Now, it’s time to apply the side pieces! Take your next section on the side of the head above the ears. Apply your first 2 clip piece.
7. Take another section 1cm above the last and apply the 1 clip piece. Ensure these side pieces are not applied to close to the hair line. This will ensure the most natural, seamless application.
8. Repeat this process with your remaining pieces!

UNDONE HAIR: GET THE LOOK

We love the look of undone hair, especially for summer and spring! Channel your inner Olsen twin with these super effortless, casual look. To get undone hair, simply read on for our step to step guide.

HOW TO: UNDONE HAIR

1. Start with freshly washed, towel dried hair and spray with a texturizing spray.
2. Next, depending on your hair type, blow dry by finger combing, or let air dry without heat. If you’re air drying, a quick tip for added texture is to plait your hair and leave until completely dry.
3. Time to style! Spray your hair with heat protection whilst your curling wand is heating up.
4. Take sections of your hair and curl. Don’t be too neat with this step, as ultimately, the messier the better.
5. To really achieve the undone look, skip sections and leave straight. This’ll give that added texture that really makes the style. Always be sure to alternative the direction of your curls too!
6. Once curled, spritz again with a texturizing product and brush through the curls with your fingers.
7. Finish with hairspray and you’re good to go!

The ZALA team show you how different tools, methods and products can give a variety of curls. And, you CAN safely use these methods on your ZALA Hair for a super pretty curled look!

CURLING TECHNIQUES

At ZALA, we often get asked if we sell curly or wavy hair extensions. The answer to this question is not, but for a very good reason! All our sets are straight, for the flexibility of leaving straight, or styling exactly how you desire. Curls, tousled waves or even ringlets! You can safely style your ZALA Hair Extensions, as our sets are premium quality 100% Human Remy Hair.

HOLLYWOOD STYLE CURLS

You can’t go wrong with the classic look of vintage curls for an event or special occasion. To get this old hollywood style, start by spraying your hair with heat protectant. It’s imperative to protect your natural locks & your extensions. To achieve this look, you will need a curling iron with a clamp. Take medium sized sections and, starting from the bottom, curl in the same direction. The key to this style is hold, so after curling each section, clip in place so that the hair cools in this position. Once all the hair is curl, lightly brush through and spray with hairspray. This technique should create an ‘S’ shade in the hair.

NATURAL, BEACHY CURLS

Who doesn’t love the look of effortless, beachy style curls?! To get this super natural curl, start by spraying your locks with heat protectant. As always! Using a curling wand, take small sections of your hair, twist and wrap around the barrel. Always be sure to alternative directions of the curl in between each section, for the most natural look. Next, brush through with your fingers to loosen the curl slightly. Finish with a salt-spray for added texture, scrunch through your hair and you’re done!

EVERYDAY CURLS

This is a go-to style for curls, as it is the most easy of all curling techniques. We love this look combined with a 9 piece set of ZALA Hair Extensions for added length & volume! First things first, use heat protectant.Next, using either a straightener or curling wand, start your curl from the mid-section of your hair. Be sure to curl away from the way for the most flattering effect. And as mentioned, alternating direction is important too! Brush through the curls lightly and spray with hairspray to finish.
